McCormick’s Creek State Park Inn

Canyon Inn at McCormick’s Creek State Park offers a peaceful retreat amidst scenic beauty, featuring 76 rooms, a pool, banquet hall, and outdoor activities like hiking and picnicking.

In 1888, Dr. Frederick Denkewalter built a sanatorium on the peaceful canyon and cliffs of McCormick’s Creek. The sanatorium became a popular destination for hiking, picnicking, and rejuvenation. After Dr. Denkewalter’s passing in 1914, the State of Indiana acquired the land and transformed it into McCormick’s Creek State Park. The park’s former sanatorium building was renamed Canyon Inn and now boasts 76 rooms, a swimming pool, banquet hall, and recreation center.

Guests of Canyon Inn can enjoy the picturesque surroundings from the porch or immerse themselves in the park’s enriching activities. These activities include tranquil canyon walks, breathtaking waterfall views, explorations of the cliffs and fire tower, and hiking trails that lead to stunning natural vistas.

Just 15 miles east of McCormick’s Creek State Park is Indiana University and Bloomington. These cities offer a diverse array of dining options, cultural events, and sporting activities, promising a well-rounded and enjoyable getaway experience.
